Welcome to whoever you are. Why would anyone find what I have to say on the state of the world interesting or worthy of a visit?

Gordon, thought I'd post a comment on your blog. I'm reading it because it is good and extremely readable! How far you've come from stuffing smelly socks up a traffic cone and eating pancakes with ketchup!!
Strange thing is I agree with what you've written. Keep it up and I'll keep tuning in.

I feel I have to add a comment from the opposite side of things! & I agree none of us are perfect and that most certainly includes me!!
Some of us though have paid work (+ homes, families etc etc!)+ are trying hard to work for the Lord in church using our "spare" time to do our best for God.'Official' work days off can soon become filled with trying to do the best we can in whatever ministry we feel called to be involved in.
It can be a real challenge to get the balance right and do a good job in everything to a standard pleasing to God!
I'll jump off my soap box now!
I agree with David that so far its all tres readable!

Thanks David and Helen. Good to know you're out there. Helen, never meant to project that I took you for granted. The 'extra'-timers like you are what the church lives or dies by, in some senses. I know how hard you work, and how well you juggle (more memories of Rob Lacey invade my mind)and how authentically you worship God, and I don't mean on a Sunday(only). I'm sure how you treat a patient is every bit as meaningful in heaven as what we do in our church incarnation. More so, possibly. I kinda think we think the same on this whole area anyway. But you would get frustrated by someone doing a shoddy job at work too wouldn't you?

...and maybe I was just having a bad day...

Of Course I Would! I think I'm just havin a bad day too!!(or 3..!)One of the things I remember from Rob Lacey's "Prodigal" monologue was at the end when he threw out lots of balloons into the audience one at a time, saying real poingnant one-liners such as "Does God miss you?"
I totally agree and would echo your tribute to a real man of God.
The photo of you in church brings back memories! Im sure God is continuing to use your gift of preaching esp in the current circumstances. So watch out Leveners.. be ready for challenge!

Gordon, Why did you stuff socks up traffic cones? They are supposed to go on your head!
